Thursday, 6/26 Patrick Arbore will be a guest on Aging in LA, 8:30pm, a program of Los Angeles Cityview, Channel 35. Viewed by 2.1 million people weekly, Aging in LA is a weekly discussion series focusing on issues affecting Los Angeles’ senior population. Since its premiere in May 2001, Aging in LA has been a valuable source of information for seniors, their loved ones, and caregivers alike. Host Paul Petersen welcomes guests from all sectors of our society and engages them in thought-provoking dialogue and frank discourse.

DISCOVERING SECRETS OF THE AGING MIND, 8:30am - 4:30pm. A Series of Four Professional Education Programs Presented by Institute on Aging, Event Center @ Saint Mary's Cathedral, 1111 Gough Street, San Francisco. IOA has designed four professional education programs that will give participants a better understanding of how to recognize and deal with organic brain diseases and mental health issues that affect the behavior and ultimately the quality of life for older adults. (First Thursdays, 3:00pm-4:30pm) IOA Professional Training & Case Conference Series on a diverse set of important topics, presented by IOA experts. A didactic presentation will be offered every first Thursday of the month and will be followed by an applied case conference. At the case conference, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the material presented in their various clinical settings. These case conferences will be lead by the presenter of the prior didactic training. While we encourage people to attend both sessions on each topic, partial CEU’s will be given for either the case conference or the didactic presentation. FREE. Refreshments provided.

CEUs will be awareded for BBS, Psychology, and BRN. To receive CEU credits, please bring license number with you to the event.

Support Groups - Loss, Bereavement, & Abuse

8-week Suicide Bereavement/Traumatic Loss Support Group, San Francisco, 6pm, is open to people of any age who have lost a loved one or loved ones to suicide or traumatic death. A $25 donation is gratefully accepted; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Bereavement Spiritual Support Groups from a Jewish Perspective - Now Forming
Tuesdays, 7pm-9pm, 290 Dolores Street (at 16th St.), San Francisco, CA. For those living with the loss of a loved one, presented by Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, a program of Institute on Aging.
