Event Sponsorship
Institute on Aging stages a number of unique events drawing thousands of participants every year. Sponsoship of an IOA event offers a meaningful opportunity to improve the lives of Bay Area seniors while conveying a positive image of your company or organization to local consumers.
Please consider supporting:
Cable Car Caroling
Build community and spread good will as a sponsor and participant at the annual Cable Car Caroling fundraiser. Patrick Arbore, Founder and Program Director, explains, "We all know the holidays can be a hard time for those living alone and on fixed incomes. But, really, they can be hard for anyone. Giving something of yourself, joining with others to give the gift of music and hospitality to others, makes everyone feel a little brighter." Held each December, Cable Car Caroling is the main fundraiser for IOA’s Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention, which supports the Friendship Line, a 24-hour support line for depressed, lonely, and isolated elders. Call (415) 750-4180 x143 or email mbautista@ioaging.org for more information.
Dinner à la Heart
IOA’s major fundraiser of the year, Dinner à la Heart supports all programs at IOA. Participants enjoy a prix fixe dinner at their choice of over 65 local restaurants. Sponsorship opportunities include meal underwriting, donation of thank you gifts, restaurant buy-outs, and more. Call (415) 750-4180 x143 or email mbautista@ioaging.org for more information.
Educational Events
Sponsor an educational event, partnering with IOA to help provide up-to-date information enabling elders to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Please call (415) 750-4180 x227 or email education@ioaging.org for more information.
Host an Art Exhibition
Provide your workplace with an attractive, evocative, and educational art exhibition promoting positive aging. Corporate Art Lending, a program of IOA’s Center for Elders & Youth in the Arts (CEYA), handles all of the details, selecting and attractively displaying artwork from our archive of photography, painting, poetry, oral history, and theatre. All artwork is created by CEYA participants, a program encouraging seniors to explore their creative potential by working on various art projects with professional local artists. In many projects, elders and youth are paired together in artist collaboration so that seniors have the opportunity to share their experiences and build lasting friendships with local high school students. Call (415) 447-1989 x534 or email jmccracken@ioaging.org for more information.
