Elder Abuse Partnerships
Elder abuse can occur in any neighborhood and too often goes undetected
and unreported. To help senior care professionals identify and treat
victims of elder abuse, IOA partners with public and private agencies
through the San Francisco Consortium for Elder Abuse Prevention. To
help advocate for seniors and address elder abuse in the courts, IOA
partners with the city of San Francisco in leading the San Francisco
Elder Abuse Forensic Center.

Clinical Research
Clinical research in the elder care field is conducted through the IOA Research Center in collaboration with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and other institutions. IOA's funded research (through NIH, NIA, and foundations), investigates treatments and therapies for illnesses affecting older adults, such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, mental depression, and HIV in older adults. Program Evaluation
