Report Elder Abuse

Do you need to report elder abuse? If you are in the State of California, you can fill out a form online, print it, and fax it to your local APS office. The form can be found at the Department of Social Services website.

Click here to view the Types of Abuse & Neglect that Require a Mandated Report to APS.

The fax number in San Francisco is (415) 557-5377. To find the numbers for other counties, click here.

Would you like to speak with someone? In San Francisco County, as well as all counties in California, there is an agency called Adult Protective Services or APS which works with victims of elder abuse to find needed services and re-establish a safe environment for the victim. We recommend that you always call APS first when you suspect you or someone else is being abused. Their number is (415) 557-5230. If you would like to talk to someone at IOA please feel free to call us at (415) 750-4180 x222.

IOA’s Elder Abuse Prevention Program offers counseling for elder abuse victims, case consultation, professional and community training on elder abuse, and coordinated the SF Consortium for Elder Abuse Prevention.
