Irene Swindells Center for Adult Day Services is a social day program serving individuals with mild to moderate memory loss. Participants are encouraged to enjoy a variety of structured activities that provide mental stimulation and promote physical health and personal successes in a comfortable and supportive environment. Our caring staff of trained professionals also provides education and support for family caregivers, enhancing the quality of life for everyone touched by memory loss.

The Center gives me great peace of mind, allows me to continue to work, and provides respite from Rich's Alzheimers. It's a special place with a very special staff. Thank you!

Swindells Center for Adult Day Services is a collaborative partnership with California Pacific Medical Center.

Swindells Center was established in March 2002 as a partnership between California Pacific Medical Center and IOA. CPMC had a residential facility specializing in dementia care and IOA had an Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center serving middle to advanced dementia stages.

Both programs were aware that individuals in the beginning stages of the disease did not have enough services. In order to provide a continuum of care, IOA and CPMC created Swindells.

CPMC provided the facility and IOA provided the program. Through Swindells, and through the congoing partnership with CPMC, individuals experiencing dementia can now receive expert, compassionate care throughout the course of the disease.
