June 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
This training will incorporate more advanced topics around gender-affirming care. We will review the complexities of gender dysphoria. We will also review best practices for gender-affirming care, including gender-affirming surgeries and procedures, with a focus on the specific needs of older adults and adults living with disabilities—-including those with dementia/cognitive impairment. By the end of this training, participants will have a more comprehensive understanding of the specific experiences and needs of transgender and non-binary adults, older adults, and adults with disabilities, as well as how to provide the most appropriate and gender-affirming care possible.
