Austin Ord, Vice President of Community Living Services, joined the Institute on Aging Executive Team in 2019. Prior to IOA, Austin worked in a variety of leadership roles at Sutter Health, one of the nation’s top five largest health systems, focusing on inpatient and post-acute care coordination. Austin led and developed award-winning innovative programs, practices, and partnerships to support healthcare utilization reduction efforts and improved patient outcomes across the care continuum for over a dozen hospitals across the Bay Area. During his career, Austin was appointed by the Mayor of San Francisco to represent Hospitals and Health Systems on the City’s Long-Term Care Coordinating Council and was profiled as a “Rising Star in Healthcare” in Becker’s Hospital Review.
Austin earned his MHA from the University of Kentucky, and his B.S. in Human Development with a minor in Business from Colorado State University.
