Institute on Aging Earns 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency

Institute on Aging is proud to share that we have earned the 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition awarded by Candid, a leading nonprofit research organization.

This distinction reflects something we believe should never be assumed but always demonstrated: integrity, accountability, and responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.

What Is the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency?

Candid evaluates nonprofits based on how openly and voluntarily they share information about their mission, leadership, programs, strategy, and financials. The Platinum Seal is the highest level of transparency an organization can achieve.

According to a Candid report from July 2025, only about 6 percent of more than 140,000 nonprofits analyzed had earned the Platinum Seal. This places Institute on Aging among a small group of organizations nationally that lead the way in nonprofit accountability.

Why This Matters to Our Donors and Partners

Trust is built through transparency.

For donors and funders, this seal signals that Institute on Aging:

  • Publicly shares detailed financial and programmatic information
  • Demonstrates measurable impact
  • Maintains strong governance and leadership practices
  • Is externally vetted and validated

It demonstrates that every dollar entrusted to Institute on Aging is handled with care and invested in services that impact lives.

What This Means for the Communities We Serve

For our clients and their families, this recognition reinforces something they already experience firsthand. The resources granted to Institute on Aging are used responsibly and in direct support of services that impact lives every day.

From in-home care and dementia support to care management and elder abuse prevention, our programs are rooted in compassion and backed by operational integrity.

Transparency is not just a reporting requirement. It is a reflection of our values.

A Commitment We Uphold Every Day

Institute on Aging is one of California’s largest and most trusted social service organizations. Earning the 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency affirms our ongoing commitment to accountability, ethical leadership, and community-centered service.

We are grateful to our donors, funders, partners, and staff who make this work possible. Together, we continue to build a stronger, more supportive future for older adults and the families who care for them.
