Serving Those Who Served

Expanded VA Benefits Now Cover More Support Options

Veterans and their families may now be eligible for VA-covered in-home support and daytime programs at Institute on Aging – with many services billed directly through the VA.

We are honored to support veterans with compassionate, mission-driven care that promotes dignity, independence, and connection.

Veterans Deserve the Best Care - and Easier Access to It

If you or a loved one is a VA-connected Veteran, you may qualify for:

  • Up to 16 hours per week of VA-covered non-medical in-home care
  • Up to 28 hours per week for veterans on hospice
  • Services coordinated with your VA care team and billed directly through the VA

Our team helps guide you through eligibility, coordination, and next steps –  so you don’t have to navigate the process alone.

How VA-Covered Home Care Works

There are two primary ways veterans access covered services through the VA:

    1. Physician Recommendation
Your VA primary care provider or care team recommends home or daytime care. A VA social worker connects you with approved providers like Institute on Aging, and the VA covers the cost.
    2. Veteran Request
You may request home care or adult day services directly through your VA primary care provider. Once approved, the VA coordinates directly with IOA to begin services.

Our team works closely with VA partners and social workers to simplify the process from start to finish.
