Loving Dementia Care: Learn The Skills You Need to Succeed

These hour-long webinars will be offered weekly through the month of February via Zoom and will be facilitated by members of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) in partnership with the Institute on Aging. Sessions will be recorded and later made available through UCSF and IOA. These dementia-care webinars are intended for nursing, social work and other allied professionals working in healthcare and community settings caring for people with dementia.
Feb. 2, 2021 Heartbeat of Dementia Care and Hopeful Advances in Research

Objectives:
- Identify at least three basic brain structures and functions
- Describe at least three ways the brain changes with aging
- Define the term “dementia” and describe at least three signs and symptoms associated with common causes of dementia

Feb. 9, 2021 Embracing Cognitive Evaluation and Communicating With Care

Feb. 16, 2021 Getting to the Heart of Behavior and Supporting Independence/Facilitating Engagement
