Institute on Aging Expands Its Compassionate Aging Services to the East Bay

Since 1985, Institute on Aging has provided compassionate, community-based care to older adults, their families, and caregivers throughout San Francisco, Marin, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. Now, by taking over the private-duty home-care services of Sutter Care At Home, one of the most established and capable service providers in the state, we’re proud to expand our services into the East Bay.

Sutter Care at Home, established in 1906, has set the standard for providing personalized care, assisting more than 165,000 patients each year. Their mission of providing excellent home health, hospice care, and more fits in with IOA’s vision of helping older adults age with peace, dignity, and independence. We believe that aging isn’t a time for withdrawal, but a chance to participate even more fully in the community. By incorporating the established expertise of Sutter Care at Home into Institute on Aging, we can bring that vision to even more people throughout the Bay Area.
We’re happy to be able to expand our services into Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. With a combined population of nearly three million, we know that this is a great opportunity to grow, to serve the community, and to continue to make aging better for everyone in the region. The transition of home-care services will be seamless for clients and employees of both organizations, as our focus is maintaining a continuity of care.
As Cindy Kauffman, Institute on Aging’s COO, said, “We are so pleased to welcome the employees and clients of Sutter Care at Home private-duty care into the family. This new collaboration helps us expand our services into the East Bay with an already-established, high-quality organization in place.”
At Institute on Aging, our programs and services help older adults age with dignity and independence, and assist families and caretakers in providing the best possible help. We believe that everyone should live the life they deserve. Connect with us today to learn more.
