Friendship Line California

Even in these challenging times, friendship is always a phone call away.

Discover how our Friendship Line is growing to connect to more Californian seniors.

COVID-19 has changed the way all of us in California connect. But just because social distancing has become our new norm, doesn’t mean we should stop being social. If anything, now’s the time to find new ways to connect. Especially to the large number of seniors who have found themselves isolated and alone due to COVID-19. Now, thanks to additional funding from The California Department of Aging or (CDA), we can.

Know a senior in need of emotional support?
We’re here to help.

The Friendship Line is both a crisis intervention hotline and a warmline for non-emergency emotional support calls.

More resources mean more ways to connect all over California.

For over forty-five years, The Friendship Line has been a vital lifeline for people aged 60 years and older and adults living with disabilities to connect with a caring, compassionate voice ready to listen and provide emotional support. As the nation’s only accredited hotline of its kind, the need for this service has grown exponentially with the arrival of COVID-19 and the host of emotional well-being issues social isolation can bring. Additional financial resources have allowed us to partner with the Alzheimer’s Associate to help shore up staffing in anticipating of an increased call volume all over California.

We’re ready to listen everyday.

If you or someone you know needs emotional support, we’re ready to listen everyday.
